An appetizing breakfast spread featuring an iconic Wisconsin Kringle with coffee.

Similar to my post featuring my work from Luna Station Quarterly, this post is an archive of everything I wrote for the organization WisconsinMade Artisan Collective.

The story of the WisconsinMade blog is one of disappointment. When the blog started, it was called Edible Antics and maintained by one of WisconsinMade’s founders. The blog highlighted artisan partners, gifts available on the website, reviews, the founders’ travels around the state of Wisconsin, and recipes that use ingredients from the online store. In 2017, the founders retired and sold WisconsinMade to its current owner. A new owner meant new branding, new messaging, a new website, new everything. Management over the blog was given to me, and in the fresh newness, I rebranded it Sconnie Days and continued forth with the purpose of boosting the website’s SEO with backlinks, profiles on our artisan partners, gift guides, and press releases.

However, the new blog was not properly set up on the store’s website, and largely maintained as a separate entity. This meant that when our web host disappeared without a word to us, the blog and all my hard work was lost. Thus the aforementioned disappointment. Would I do things differently? Of course I would. I would fight for development time to customize the blog templates on the ecommerce website so that I could maintain the blog on the same domain and DNS that I was working with.
