This past weekend I purchased a Nikon D3300 camera. I wanted a camera where I could play with aperture and shutter speed for a while, and with my upcoming Big Trip, I figured now was as good a time as any.

I went out and about with a friend the day after I purchased my new camera, then I set up a Flickr account where you will most likely see all the photos I upload to the internet. Here is a link to the Flickr album featuring the best photos from that first day of shooting. I did play with the settings I wanted to play with, and a surprising number of them turned out really well!

And for funsies, here is my favorite picture from yesterday:

Awesome! Thinking of purchasing this camera as well, do you recommend it?

I do. When looking for cameras, I was torn between the Nikon D3300 and the Canon Rebel. I went with this one because I found changing the settings was quicker. I really like the picture quality and the way it handles. It is smaller than similar cameras too, which is awesome for my stubby little hands.

Awesome thanks I’m also torn between the rebel but I’ve watched a few reviews and this one is winning so far
